Vadalia Onion Dip

This recipe is from an old Jr. League cookbook, but the person who made it famous in my neighborhood was Lanel Lange. This is one of her signature appetizers. We all love it when she brings this to a party (hint, hint.)

3 cups chopped sweet onions (Maui or Vidalia onions work best)
3 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 3/4 cups mayonnaise
garlic salt, to taste

Mix all ingredients and pour into greased quiche baking dish. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 30 minutes until lightly brown. Serve with corn chips or good crackers.
